As soon as Delilah walked into the choir room she was immediately relieved. She was the first student there too. In a small office off to one side there was a young woman with her hair pulled back into a bun. When she heard the door she got up and came out into the main room.
"Hi there." She said with a large smile. "Glad to have you in class. You're one of the new students."
"Yes ma'am. Delilah O'Malley." She said extending her hand.
"Ah you were in the honor choir at your last school right?" She asked shaking her hand and now smiling even bigger.
"Yes I was." Delilah said, excited that her new choir teacher had paid enough attention to her file and was excited about her being a part of the choir.
"That's great. It's always nice to have some new talent. Go ahead and take a seat where ever you would like dear." She said.
The room started to slowly fill with students. Delilah examined every one as they entered, curious as to if there were any more vampires in the school.

The class started and Delilah felt relieved that she never spotted any more vampires. "Maybe it was just those two.." She thought. "No there has to be more. That boy a few names so there had to be more." She decided not to dwell on it and turned her attention to the teacher.
She walked gracefully across the room and she released her long brown hair from it's bun. "Ok class we'll start now that it seems like everyone is here for the most part. I'll take roll real quick and then we'll get started.”
When she finished the roll call there were a couple students missing but that was to be expected. Delilah had attended many high schools and colleges an there always seemed to be a few.
"I’m Ms. Williams and well class I know this is our first day and I know that in most of your classes you've gone over expectations but that won't take up much of this class. I expect you all to work very hard and if you took this class just to get an easy A I suggest you visit the office during lunch and move to a different class." She paused to look at two boys who looked extremely disappointed and then continued. "In October we have a large regional singing competition and then those who win there will continue on to the state competition in November. With that being said we will now hold tryouts."
"But we haven't had any time to prepare!" A worried girl with dark brown hair and eyes like sapphires said.
"A good singer needs to be prepared at all times. Besides Lexus, as long as you did at least a little singing over break you shouldn't be too worried. I would like you to sing an entire song, which is partially why we must start so early so we can get through everyone, but I need to know that you can sing a full song." She said with a smile. "Now who would like to start us off?"
Delilah raised her hand with a confident smile. "I will."
"Why thank you Delilah. I appreciate it. Class, Delilah is one of our new students. She was in honors choir at her last high school for both her Freshman and Sophomore years." The girl who had complained about not having time to prepare and her friend next to her scoffed and glared at her, but Delilah just looked right at her and smile as she took her place in front of the class.
"What would you like me to sing ma'am?" Delilah asked politely.
"Whatever you feel would best showcase your talents." She said with a grin from ear to ear. Delilah pondered for a moment, deciding whether or not to go with something that really showcased her talents or not. Singing was the one thing she was good at even as a human. She had sung at many of her grandfather's parties.
"It's kind of old but I believe I will sing Sober which was originally sung by Pink in 2008.” Delilah stated and the Ms. Williams smiled wide and nodded her approval. Delilah starting singing, not trying to show off but music really moved her, so by the end of it she was belting out the song without a care in the world. When she finished the class was silent for a moment before bursting into applause, all except for Lexus and her friend, who Delilah decided was her brainless sidekick. When the applause died down Ms. Williams thanked her.
“I don’t think that was very appropriate to sing in school.” Lexus said with a glare.
“Actually it’s about much more if you listen to the words Lexus.” Ms. Williams said.
Delilah returned to her seat and a girl to the left of her leaned over. “Wow, that was amazing! You’re even better than Lexus!!” She said. “That was so cool and it’s totally pissed her off too!” The girl sounded so excited. The girl extended her hand to Delilah. “Delilah, I’m Elizabeth Newton and officially your biggest fan.” She said just before giggling when Lexus looked back at Delilah to shoot another glare at her.
