Edward Cullen is currently temping Bella Cullen until we get a permanent player, therefore their posts will be combined when necessary ;D
After their short walk from the car they arrived at the Field with a few minutes to spare. Bella wished now she would have asked a question before they had left the house or while they drove to the field, but wasn't sure if she should ask it now when there was a possibility that the Reineqs were within hearing distance. She looked to Edward. Should I just be prepared to put up my shield or should I do it as soon as I see them? She wondered, realizing her ability was going to play a huge in this meeting if things went awry.
"Calm down." He said quietly, though he knew they hadn't arrived quite yet having not heard any of the Reineqs' thoughts and knowing that Alice was keeping an "eye" on them so they would know they were approaching. "Just be alert." He said putting his arm around her, trying to calm her down a little. He knew she was nervous about how the meeting would go, especially after she realized how important her job was in case things went horribly wrong.

Alice glanced over at Edward and nodded. They should be arriving from that break in the trees just over there. Alice looked in the direction of which she was speaking and then looked back at Edward just as he had put his arm around Bella. Alice touched Jasper's arm, but kept her gaze on Bella.

Jasper had been scanning the trees around them when he felt Alice's hand on his arm. He followed her gaze over to Bella and immediately noticed her nervous feelings, also along with the rest of the family. He sighed to himself so that no one would hear, and began calming himself so that his family could be calm as well. As he did, however, he kept his eyes on the trees.

Carlisle glanced toward Jasper and Alice, concerned as to why he was feeling Jasper's ability, but relaxed as he noticed Edward's arm around Bella.
"Any sign of them, Alice?"
Alice kept her eyes on the break in the trees where the Reineqs were supposed to appear from.
"Not quite... They should be coming any minute, though."

Sebastian gave one last push on the accelerator and the car glided around the last corner heading towards the designated meeting place. It came to a complete stop effortlessly and smoothly. Adjusting his rear view mirror, Sebastian took the back of his hand and wiped the corner of his mouth. His pale white skin was now dotted with scarlet droplets.
Three pairs of wild, blood red eyes met his own. After weeks of not feeding, the family had agreed to feast before their rendezvous with the Cullens - more rational decisions would be made that way. Their victim - a child rapist that escaped from prison merely hours ago - did not satiate even just one of the Reineq's thirst, but it would have to do.
Four doors opened, and four vampires stepped out. Sebastian saw the Cullens and beckoned his family to follow. In a split second, they had arrived.
"Sorry we're late," Sebastian apologized immediately. "We had a situation we needed to uh - take care of," he stuttered slightly, hoping that the Cullens would not mind that they had taken out a convicted felon.

Carlisle softened his expression as the Reineqs approached, but his smile faultered slightly when the scent of human blood reached his nostrils and noticed how red their eyes were. He cleared his throat and smiled again.
"...quite alright. So, why don't we bypass all formalities and get to what you would like to talk about, Mr. Reineq."
Alice froze when the Reineqs entered the clearing and held onto Jasper's hand tightly when she noticed Carlisle's smile faulter. The scent of human blood hit her hard; her guard had not been up for that and she leaned against Jasper slightly. They've fed, Edward. Can you smell it too?

Edward nodded slightly to answer Alice's question. He was curious as to who they had been hunting. He made a mental note to mention to the Reineqs the deal that they had made so many years ago with the Quilleute tribe. The last thing they needed was a breach in a treaty that was a over 200 year old.

Sebastian nodded and cleared his throat. He snaked a firm arm around Juliette's waist and gave her a slight smile before turning back towards the Cullens.
"Well," Sebastian began, his wild red eyes brightening in anticipation and excitement. "My family and I originally hail from France. We have traveled Europe for the last century, trying to rally our kind against Les Redevances. Although their reign never reached North America - " Sebastian quickly explained, " - the terror and power they enforced over Western Europe is parallel only to The Volturi. No one believed that they could be overthrown. Until of course, your family stepped up."
Sebastian stopped there, kneading the soft spots between his eyes. He hoped the Reineq's case was sounding more powerful than desperate. After another short pause, Sebastian continued.
"Until you challenged The Volturi, no one of our kind thought it was possible. Now, however, not only is it possible, it is most likely that other old and tyrannical covens of Vampires will fall as well. We come to Forks to seek out the rebellious Cullens, and to ask for their help, guidance, and companionship in our own campain against Les Redevances."

Carlisle kept his eyes on Sebastian as he explained the Reineq's purpose, but mulled everything over in his head.
"So... what exactly are you hoping we'll be able to do for you, Mr. Reineq? We didn't really expect to win against the Volturi."
Alice blinked in surprise at Carlise, but quickly blanked her expression as to not alarm anyone. She felt Jasper's grip tighten on her hand, and returned a tiny squeeze.

Edward listened intently as Sebastian and Carlisle spoke, not only to what they were saying but thinking as well, just in case. He was a little surprised by the fact that the word of how they stood up against Volturi so many years ago had reached so far. He figured the Volturi would rather keep it all quiet rather than let anyone know they had failed in a confrontation. Beside Edward Bella began to relax a little but was still prepared with her shield.

Juliette finally released herself from her husband's grip. She pushed a piece of scarlet hair away from her scarlet eyes and found herself smirking.
"We're just asking for your...approval, you could say," she answered to Carlisle's question, her voice low and intimate. "Your sponsorship. Actual battle or fighting with Les Redevances has not been foreseen yet. But most of all, if The Cullens are behind The Reineq's decision to overturn Les Redevances, other Vampires will join. Your actual involvement in the crusade can be as minimal as you would like."
She smiled crookedly, and her porcelain white teeth glimmered. She scanned each of the Cullen's individually. "Please," she started again, her voice wobbling slightly, hinting at insecurity. "Les Redevances...tortured my husband and my daughter. And they have been hurting and killing countless other Vampire's with abilities." She narrowed her blood colored eyes and settled her gaze on Edward, moving back and forth between Jasper, Bella, and Alice, and finally fixating on Carlisle. "If Les Redevances ever made it to The States, consider four of your children already dead."

Edward eyed Juliette suspiciously as she spoke but wavered when she mentioned what all they had done. They were definitely like a clone of the Volturi, which was the last thing the world needed. He still wasn't sure that their support was something they should be giving when Bella lifted her shield enough for Edward to hear her thoughts.
Edward, I know it's a slim chance for the Les Redevances to come to the states but think of everything we have now. I'm sure they've heard of us anyway if the Reineqs have so if they were to come to the states we would most likely be a target whether or not we sided with the Reineqs. Think of Renesmee. She thought. She glanced at him when she mentioned Renesmee and showed the pleading in her eyes. Others helped us when we stood up to the Volturi, and the Reineqs may not have been part of the help but I truly think they need our help Edward.
Edward thought about it for a moment. He hated to admit it but his wife was right, if the Les Redevances came to the states they would have surely heard the news of how the Cullens stood up to the Volturi and they would likely seek them out if only to make an example of them. He was sure Carlisle understood that too, being the compassionate person as he was.
Edward thought that perhaps if nothing else each individual in the family could make up their own mind. He was sure that for most would be willing to side with them. Emmett was always down for a fight and Rosalie would go just about anywhere with him, Bella had already made up her mind and therefore Edward would go with her, he was sure Jacob would be willing to fight as well if nothing else but for Renesmee. He figured Carlisle would want to help if only to try and help prevent further destruction of life, Esme would likely stand by his side and he figured Alice and Jasper would most likely be willing to help as well.

Carlisle watched Juliette's eyes carefully as she spoke, but not too close as to stare. He waited patiently until she was done speaking, and then took a small step forward.
"I do understand your position more clearly now, however I do have one question. Is there any chance that this Les Redevances group will come here looking for you? Would they dare to disturb a small town such as Forks just to find you?"
Carlisle kept his voice in check as to not sound nervous, and gave a short glance toward Alice.
Alice barely shrugged her shoulders in response. She had not seen anything involving another group like the Volturi coming here, at least not yet.

Sebastian cleared his throat and rubbed Juliette's shoulders briefly. He could tell she was getting worked up and emotional by the inflections in her voice, and it was better if The Reineq's remained level headed. Sebastian did not want to appear weak in front of The Cullens - only determined.
"No, I don't believe so," he responded to Carlisle's probing inquiry, cutting off his wife in the process. He narrowed his gaze slightly and tried to convey silently to Juliette that it would be better if they were honest. "Les Redevances will not come to The States, let alone Forks, WA for The Queen Coven alone. But," he paused, taking a deep breath he didn't need. "That does not make them any less dangerous. That does not make the killing and the torture in Europe any less horrific. And there is always, always the chance that they will come to America, come to Washington. Come for you." There was an eerie silence as The Reineq's case came to a close, and the four French Vampires huddled together, eager in anticipation for The Cullens response.

Carlisle let out a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding, and looked over at Edward, and then back at Sebastian while he thought to Edward.
I believe we should get the others involved. We need to talk about this with the rest of the family before we make any sort of commitments, especially in this type of a situation.
"Well, if we can at least spare a few hours, Mr. Reineq, I would like to discuss this with the rest of my family before we decide on anything. I don't want my family to quarrel over such things. I can give you a call as soon as we come to a decision. Is that alright with you and your family?"

Jasper shifted uneasily next to Alice; he wasn't so sure this was anything that they should be getting involved in. Anything like the Volturi always spelled bad in his terms. He glanced at Carlisle quickly, and then drew his eyes back to The Reineq family.
I wonder if this Les Redevances would really not get involved here, especially if they're after The Reineqs in the first place. What's stopping them from coming here, I wonder...

Edward nodded ever so slightly in response to Carlisle. He had been figuring that if there was a decision to be made each individual family member would be in charge of their own participation. Sure it didn't sound like there was reason for the Les Redevances to come to the states at all, let alone Forks. But if by any chance they did, whether they decidedly sided with anyone or not, he figured the Cullens could likely be targets, if nothing else but to make an example of them to everyone else since it was obvious word of how they had stood up to the Volturi had made it at least halfway across the globe.

Alice grasped Jasper's hand gently and gave a tiny squeeze. She calmed herself, knowing her own feelings would reach Jasper with her internal message for him. However, she began to think at Edward again.
Edward, I know everyone is communicating with you right now, but I do think we need to get Jacob and the wolves in on this. Just in case Les Redevances does appear on their lands... It could spell bad for the treaty.

Edward knew Alice was right. While it was a slim chance that the Les Redevances would come here, they needed to be prepared and make sure the pack was too, because if they did come to Forks it would most definitely spell trouble for them all. He also realized that they needed to let the Reineqs know about the treaty as well, so they had no troubles there.
"Before we go though, I think you need to know of our treaty with the Quileute tribe, as the treaty is the only way we can co-exist with them and we can't afford to have our co-existence disturbed as it's been in place for hundreds of years. We are not to hunt on their land or change humans to vampires in the area and they do not expose our true existence to the humans. If you're going to live in Forks we need you abide by it as well because if you were to break it, it would be the same as if we broke it. It just makes things much easier around here." He said, hoping not to sound demanding but also hoping they understood the importance of the keeping the treaty. Whether Jacob was now family or not, breaking the treaty would cause more trouble than was necessary. It had technically been broken once, to save Bella's life after she had Renesmee but breaking it again would mean it could never be recovered.
(OOC: If we had already gone over the treaty ignore that part. I didn't see anywhere where we had so I figured we better do it. ;D )

Carlisle glanced over at Edward as he cleared his throat quietly, and then looked back to the Reineqs.
"Which brings up a previous topic of conversation. Your... choice of meal this evening, Mr. Reineq. Where did this... occurance take place, may I ask? I simply wish to confirm that it was not on the Quileute lands, as to not damage the treaty my son just spoke of. If it was, we would need to inform the Quileute tribe that it was unknown to you at the time and you now know of the treaty, as to avoid any quarrels."

"It was a criminal, one of which we disposed of well, opposite the reservation outside of Forks. We will be sure to stay away from the Quileute lands as we understand you all have worked hard to keep this agreement with the Quileutes for so many years, we would hate to ruin that." Sebastian said sternly.
"We only feed on criminals and only ones that have committed crimes such as murder." Juliette added coldly.

Sebastian nodded slightly. "We figured it would be the area around the reservation and we weren't too sure how they would react to our hunting there so we figured it would just be better to stay to the other side of town. That and the area, well, it has a certain," He paused.
"Odor." Oceane said, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
"Oceane!" Marguerite exclaimed, glaring at her.
"What? I am behaving! It does have a smell to it." She said, rolling her eyes at Marguerite. Marguerite made a mental note to make her orders for Oceane much more detailed next time.

"Some of the Quileutes are shapeshifters, werewolves. So the area does have a distinct odor to it as there are a few of them especially when there are vampires in the area. We are on very good terms with them and one of them is part out our family." Edward explained.

Carlisle nodded slightly at Edward's explanation.
"There is something I do wish to discuss about your choice of... meal. Is there any way we can help you to become... vegetarian like my family? It is a much easier meal to have, at least as far as concealing it from humans in the area. We can even help you find the overpopulated areas, if you'd like."
Alice's eyes widened a little at Carlisle's bluntness and glanced at Sebastian, making sure to soften her eyes a bit to not look as surprised.

Sebastian's eyes narrowed. "We understand your concern about our diet and your vegetarian lifestyle is one of the reasons we wanted to meet you as well. It's very interesting to us."
Oceane opened her mouth to speak but Marguerite whispered a command to keep quiet before she could utter a single word. Oceane glared at Marguerite. She was fed up with not being free to speak her mind at this little meeting which concerned her very much, yet she wasn't getting a say in any of it. Marguerite shot Oceane and apologetic look. She hated to do this to her but Oceane had a habit of coming across a bit harsh and her meanings were often misinterpreted. Marguerite was only doing it for her own good.
"It's something we're interested in." Sebastian said. "I can see how it would be easier to maintain the lifestyle you have here, especially with so many of us around. I think it is best that we go now though, and discuss everything with our families and get back to each other later about all of our decisions." Sebastian said with a quick glance at the watch on his wrist. "We appreciate you meeting with us."

Alice glanced at Jasper, now curious as to what he was feeling. She gently squeezed his hand to gain his attention subtly.

Feeling Alice's gentle squeeze on his hand, Jasper glanced down at her. Seeing the curiousness in her eyes, he glanced over to the Reineqs and subtly let his ability fan out to them. Feeling neither violence nor hostility, Jasper retracted his ability and glanced to Alice again. He let a small smile appear and slightly shook his head for only Alice to see. After quickly returning his expression to its previous blank state, Jasper looked back to the Reineqs.

"We will." Sebastian said with a nod. "I look forward to our next meeting." He said before he and his family turned to head to their car.
When they reached their car Juliette took an unnecessary deep breath. "Do you think they'll support us?"
Sebastian shook his head. "I truly do not know to be honest. I think it would be in their best interest personally. There is nothing to say that they would come here for them or us but one never knows what the Les Redevances will do."
