Person behind the keyboard
Name: Cathy M. (yes AGAIN, lol)
Age: 24
Email: i_am_rainbowbunnie@yahoo.com
Character
Name: Ardal O’Malley
Age: 267
Birthday: October 5, 1890
Gender/Species: Male/Vampire
Diet: Vegetarian
Ability: Retrieve/watch/remove and implant memories (without touch but does need a close proximity). They are very strong when he retrieves/removes memories and can feel the emotions the person was feeling with the memory.
Appearance: Tall (6’1”), muscular, dark hair and liquid topaz eyes. Has an air of mystery about him and often seems to be brooding when he’s really perfectly happy.
Personality: Very compassionate (how the family became ‘vegetarians’), very protective of his family and loves a good joke. He’s seen a lot (through his own experiences and memories he has seen & removed from others), which is why he seems like he’s brooding even when he’s happy, and is very stuck in his ways, though Rebekah can get him to cave on certain things.
Family/Coven/Group: O’Malley
Family Members: Rebekah, Delilah, and Tabitha.
Mate: Rebekah O’Malley
Past: Ardal was the youngest son of three born to an Irish couple in1890. He was attending school when he met Rebekah. He thought there was no such thing as love at first sight until he met her. She told him she was forbidden to date (but left out the detail that it was only humans she wasn’t allowed to date) but he pursued her anyway. They dated for weeks when Rebekah finally told him what she and her parents were, which didn’t bother Ardal at all. They were later married and had a daughter, Delilah. When Delilah was 2, Ardal was working in a mine when there was an accident and he was seriously injured. Abe changed him at Rebekah’s request and they left Delilah with Abe and Lydia while Ardal adjusted to his new lifestyle as a vampire. While out hunting one day (they only fed on criminals and the handicapped since they were tossed aside at that time) he fed on a homeless woman who he thought he would be doing a favor, when he looked up to see her young daughter, who had witnessed the whole thing. Ardal used his gift to remove the girl’s memory but in the process experienced what she felt when she witnessed it and as a result ran off into the forest and collapsed with disgust and proceeded to contemplate ways to kill himself. He lay in the forest until his throat burned with a thirst worse than he had ever felt, when a deer happen to walk by and without thinking he feasted from it only to realize it was possible to survive off of it. He returned to Abe & Lydia’s, where Rebekah had gone when she couldn’t find him and told them what had happened. They all thought he was the first vampire to go insane when he initially told him but he showed them the memory and they all went hunting and the family hadn’t looked back since. Ardal had finally learned to control himself as well so they returned to their home to finish raising Delilah. When Delilah finished school, she was in a terrible car accident where her fiancé died and she was close enough to death her vampiric healing (one of very few vamp traits she had) couldn't even save her. Rebekah begged Ardal to change her and he struggled with the decision. While he didn’t regret becoming a vampire, he wasn’t sure he wanted to put Delilah through the horribleness of the first few years after being changed. He finally decided to do it and then worked very hard to help her in her first few years as a vamp. Then in 2152, Ardal and Rebekah had another girl, Tabitha who was a ¾ vampire. He tends to favor Delilah, though it’s not extremely obvious to anyone other than him.
Celebrity Face Claim: David Boreanaz
Sample Post: “Ardal finished the book he was reading and closed it only to open it again to the front cover to find the note that was left with it.
Daddy, Hope you enjoy this one. It reminds me of that book you read to me as a child. I’ll miss you while I’m gone but I’ll be sure to call and write often. Love you lots! Delilah
Her script made him smile. He missed her so much but he couldn’t blame her for leaving. She had decided since she was no longer the only child he loved her less. “It’s my own fault.” He thought. He had tried to buy Tabitha things to make up for favoring Delilah with his time only for Delilah to see it as him favoring Tabitha. He felt awful and had been trying to figure out how to make it right since she left. He set the book down on the coffee table and went to the porch where Rebekah and Tabitha were. Rebekah was excited about something and talking fast with a large smile.
Ardal walked out of the house. “What’s all the excitement about?” He asked looking between the two of them.
“We’re going to go visit Delilah!” Rebekah said with an excited smile."
He thought about it for a moment and decided that while he hated to intrude he really wanted to set things right with her and decided that a face to face was the best way to do it. He smiled back at them.
“Well get packing!” He said, trying to not sound as excited as he felt about going to see her. He was sure he knew that Rebekah was going to try and find a reason to move with her, or rather he hoped she was going to.”
