Edward Cullen is currently temping Bella Cullen until we get a permanent player, therefore their posts will be combined when necessary ;D
Edward pulled up to the house and got out and opened the door up for Bella. He frowned at Jacob when he didn't do the same for Renesmee. Edward was surprised to see Carlisle's car in the garage as he usually worked later on Mondays. They headed into the house so that Edward could talk to Carlisle.
Edward went up to Carlisle's office upstairs, to which the door was wide open and Carlisle was at his desk, reading a book.

Carlisle looked up from the book he was reading to see Edward standing in the doorway to his office.
"Ah, Edward, you're home. Come sit in here and tell me about the events that transpired today at your school."
He gestured to a chair in front of the desk and put his book down after sliding a bookmark into the spine.
"Alice says there is a new family of vampires in Forks."
Carlisle folded his hands and rested them on top of his desk, not realizing he was projecting his doctorly behaviors.

Edward came in and sat down.
"Yes, there is. We met with two of them after school. There's two others as well. The two we met with were Marguerite and Oceane. Marguerite told us that they had moved here because word of our little run in the Volturi had reached them in France and they're curious about our way of living. However Oceane, who's a bit, outspoken, told us that that's not their only intention. It was then that Marguerite admitted that part of the reason they're interested is because there is another group similar to the Volturi, which Oceane and their father, Sebastian, were under control of for a while that are steadily growing stronger and they hope to find a way to defeat them."
He paused for but a moment before he told Carlisle about the rest. "I decided that it would be beneficial to find a time to meet with them where you could be involved as well. I had invited them here, but also gave them the choice of meeting somewhere neutral tomorrow evening. I'd bet that as large as our family is they'll want to choose somewhere neutral though. I also figured we could limit the meeting to a few key members of our family as well. Those who would be good to have around, just in case things were to go awry."

Carlisle listened to Edward as he explained what had happened, letting his emotions show on his face considering it was useless to try to hide them around Edward. He let out a long, drawn out breath as Edward finished.
"Hmm. Well, I do agree with this meeting you have set up, considering the new-comers do need to know the 'rules' that we have in place, although I do wish you had consulted me beforehand of your intentions. I suppose my first question is, do they know where our house is? I ask this because I particularly am not very sure we would want them meeting here...just in case they are going to turn hostile toward us. It's not that I would want to limit our hospitality, but I just want to cover all of our bases this time."
Carlisle shifted slightly in his chair, and waited for Edward's response.

"They do not know where the house is. We can always say that we'd rather meet somewhere else as well. I'd guess that they would prefer to meet somewhere neutral though, since they have already seen how large our family is. It's likely to be an intimidating situation to meet here." Edward paused. "I apologize Carlisle, for not running this plan by you, but it was evident that she wished her parents were there and I felt like it would help things to have you there as well."

Carlisle nodded as he put his hand up.
"Calm down, Edward. I'm not angry with you. It's just this is the first time we've had another vampire family move into Forks without us finding out sooner. I am quite surprised Alice did not see this coming."
Just as Carlisle was beginning to dial Alice's number on his cell, Alice's voice stopped him.
"That's because I was concentrating too hard on Jacob, just as you both wanted me to."
Alice walked in and sat down in the chair next to Edward.
"What's the plan, Carlisle?"
Carlisle put his cell back down on the desk and looked at Alice.
"What have you seen?"
Alice sighed and shook her head.
"Of what I have seen, it doesn't help us any. All I know is that they weren't giving us the entire story, but that they are not a threat. But Carlisle, I saw Aros. He was up to something again, but I can't tell what it is. He knows we're watching him, so he's keeping his plans hidden somehow."

"I think right now we need to concentrate the Reineqs, but Alice," Edward said, turning to her, "keep an eye on him and see if you can find even just an idea of how he's trying to keep his plans under wraps. If he's trying to regroup or something we need to be prepared. As though we didn't have enough to worry about." Edward said, shaking his head, and leaning back in his chair

Alice nodded and looked back and forth between Edward and Carlisle as she spoke.
"I know. That's why I didn't say anything to the others about this. They don't need to know unless something more drastic happens."
Carlisle nodded in agreement.
"Yes. I do agree that the others do not need to know about Aros unless something more drastic does happen. Alice, please do keep an eye on Aros to see if anything comes up, but make sure you watch around the house as well. He may try to plan things around the house to try and divert your attention. But for now, we'll just see what happens with this new family."
Carlisle stood up and smiled at Alice and Edward.
"Put on a good expression for the others for now. We'll discuss this some more when we get more information."
Alice nodded as she stood up and made her way out into the hallway.
"I'll keep you updated if anything changes."
She quickly walked down the hallway toward her and Jasper's room, leaving Edward and Carlisle in Carlisle's office.

"Where should I tell the Reineqs we will be meeting?" Edward asked. "Also, who do you feel we should have involved in the meeting?"

Carlisle stood up and rested his hand against his chin.
"Hmm... well, we could arrange a meeting in the clearing where we play baseball. As for people to involve, we will definitely need Alice, Jasper, Bella, and yourself. I don't know if we need to involve Rosalie and Emmett yet, considering they've not shown themselves to be hostile. Esme, Jacob, and Renesmee definitely do not need to be involved, so I suggest that they stay here. What do you think?"
Carlisle stepped around his desk to stand next to Edward.

Just as Carlisle hung up the phone, Edward glanced at the clock on the wall. It wouldn't be too long before they were meeting with the Reineqs.
"Perhaps we should get those of us we want to go to the meeting together so we can talk about it beforehand and make sure we're all on the same page. I was thinking the same as you on who should be involved." Edward said, still a little tense about the situation, but much more calm about it than before.

"Yes. We do need to go over what information we want to keep hidden for now, considering we still do not know what their genuine intentions are. For the safety of this family."
Carlisle stepped out of his office and headed downstairs, where the rest of the family was gathered in the living room.

Jasper glanced up from his place next to Alice on one of the many sofas in the living room and looked straight at Carlisle. The intense stress that was reaching him told him that there was a much more potentially dangerous situation forming than he had originally thought.
"Carlisle... What's wrong...?"
Jasper unconsciously put his arm around Alice, now getting tense himself.

Edward followed Carlisle downstairs.
When Edward and Carlisle entered the room Bella could tell by the look on Edward's face he was deeply concerned about something. She had seen that look too many times and knew it well. She got up off the chair she was sitting in to go to his side.

Rosalie and Emmett sat on the couch together, playfully picking on each other when Carlisle and Edward came in. They stopped when they saw Bella stand up with a look of concern on her face and turned to look at Edward and Carlisle, just as Jasper had asked what was wrong.

Renesmee tensed up a little when she saw her father's look of worry but tensed even more when she saw the look on her Mom's face. but refrained from running to them both and leaned into Jacob's arms instead. She could also hear the concern in Jasper's voice which made her more eneasy. She glanced up and Jacob, who shot her a comforting smile before squeezing his arms around her.

Carlisle put up one hand.
"Calm down, everyone. It's nothing as serious as I suspect you all are thinking. Yes, it concerns the new family of vampires that have moved into Forks, no, they do not seem hostile, and yes we will be meeting with them. For this particular meeting, however, I only wish to involve Edward, Bella, Alice, Jasper, and myself. I believe we should have Esme and Renesmee stay behind at the house for obvious reasons, but I want Jacob, Rosalie, and Emmett to stay behind as well."
Carlisle unconsciously took in a long breath and continued as he looked at the family members to be present at the meeting.
"This meeting is to take place in the forest near Forks Highschool at 8 p.m. I do not want to disclose every bit of information about our family to the Reineqs quite yet until we know their genuine intentions. So, for the time being, let Edward and me handle the conversations to be exchanged at this meeting. Are there any questions so far?"

Bella made her way to Edward and took his hand. She shook her head when Carlisle asked if there were any questions. She knew why these specific family members were going and just hoped that those that weren't going knew better than to be mad about their not being asked to come. She figured Renesmee would know but wasn't sure about Jacob and she searched their faces to try to assess what they were thinking.

Rosalie knew that if the entire family wasn't going to be involved she and Emmett would not be in the group that would be going. Years ago she would have been livid about it, but it didn't bother her, mostly because she expected it. She looked at Emmett to gauge his reaction though. He tended to get pretty mad when he was missing out on any meeting that there was even the slightest chance that a fight could break out.
Emmett was absolutely unperturbed by the fact that he wasn't going to be included in the group at the meeting and after Carlisle began to address those that were going he turned his attention back to Rosalie and got an ornery grin. Rose smiled back and they resumed picking on each other quietly in the background.

Renesmee wasn't at all bothered and understood the choice of family members. She had always been pretty easygoing about that kind of stuff. She turned to Jacob and realized he wasn't thrilled about the situation. She grabbed his hand and squeezed it. She wondered if he would ever get used to the fact that while he was still Alpha of the pack, he was not the Alpha of the family and didn't have to be involved in every negotiation.
It's alright. They will handle it just fine and you have to remember we're a large family and it would be pretty intimidating to meet all of us at once. Renesmee told him as she squeezed his hand and looked up at him, smiling sweetly.
Jacob was irritated and understood for the most part, but part of him was really irritated. He hated not being in charge like he was with the pack, or rather what was left of the pack. His irritation melted away though, not as his wife comforted him, but when she smiled that sweet smile he loved so much. He nodded slightly and smiled back.

Alice leaned into Jasper's side as he put his arm around her. As Carlisle began explaining, Alice stood up and maneuvered her way around the sofas to get to Carlisle, holding Jasper's arm as she did. "I have a question for you."
Carlisle nodded.
"I knew you would, Alice."
Alice shifted her weight a little before looking Carlisle in the eye.
"All I know for now is that they are definitely going to meet us, they will be bringing their whole family, and as far as I can see they have not made any sort of plans to become hostile. As you've already pointed out. But... Do they know anything about any of our abilities?"

Edward waited for a moment, for Carlisle to answer Alice, than answered when he hadn't. "I don't believe they do know any of our abilities unless any of you," he glanced around the room at the rest of them who had attended school that day, "let anything slip." He finished, hoping he knew them well enough to know that they hadn't said anything of any of their abilities.
Though the Reineqs had not proven themselves to be hostile it was always a good idea to be cautious, just in case.

Rosalie continued to listen to the others talk as she and Emmett continued to playfully pick on each other. When Edward addressed the room, she quit and turned to face him.
"None of us let anything about our abilities slip." She said, her voice a little harsher than she intended. Edward had to know better by now that they wouldn't do such a thing, even Renesmee, the youngest, and though occasionally (rarely) a bit naive, Rose knew that she had been raised better than that.
"However, Oceane gave us a little gem." She said, remembering what Oceane had said in Anatomy. She watched as everyone turned to look at her, some in surprise. "She told us that Marguerite had the ability to tell people what to do and that they have to listen. She had told Oceane to behave during class, so she had to, even when that teacher of ours pulled out that cat."
"Which would be why she didn't seem to struggle as much as some of the rest of us." Emmett said, turning his attention to the everyone who hadn't been in the class with them.

As Edward, Rosalie, and Emmett explained, Carlisle listened quietly and nodded his head.
"Alright. I still wouldn't say it is safe to assume that they do not know our abilities. They could still have some sort of idea, or have done some research of some kind. So I do not think us knowing one ability will put us ahead of them by any means."
Alice glanced at one of Esme's many antique clocks on the wall and her body tensed slightly.
"It's time..."
Carlisle looked to every family member and nodded.
"Alright. Everyone ready?"

Edward and Bella both nodded. Whether Bella was really ready or not, it didn't matter as being late would be unacceptable. She was nervous. This was the first time anything like this had ever happened to them. Bella looked back and smiled at Renesmee, just before they headed out of the house to the car.

Carlisle gave one last confident nod as he looked around the room at his family.
"Alright then. Let's be on our way. We do not want to be disrespectful by arriving late. We'll drive halfway and park somewhere nearby just in case we need the car. We'll take my car; I don't see any reason to take multiple cars, that may look suspicious."
He looked around one last time, lingering for a moment on Esme, and then smiled as he turned and led the way to the garage.
